VanWest College has campuses in Kelowna and Vancouver, making it a language school where two-city study is possible. English + Volunteering (30 lessons)

Speak Up! (30 lessons)

Speak Up! is a speaking-focused 30-lesson course (morning Speak Up + afternoon electives). The course length is 8 weeks (2 months), and the fee is the same as the 30-lesson English course.

High School Preparation Program (30 lessons)

This program runs from June 29 to August 21 and is for ages 13 and up. Tuition is $500/week for 2–8 weeks and $450/week for 9–12 weeks.​

Working Holiday Package (30 lessons)

This package lets you choose based on your level and goals, combining Kelowna and Vancouver.

  • 24 weeks: Kelowna 16 weeks + Vancouver 8 weeks
  • 18 weeks: Kelowna 10 weeks + Vancouver 8 weeks
  • 12 weeks: Kelowna 4 weeks + Vancouver 8 weeks

Hospitality Management Co-op Diploma

This program is 14 months long. Program fees are: tuition $13,500, application fee $250, student services fee $250, and textbooks paid locally. Start dates: Aug 31, 2026 and Aug 30, 2027.​

ESL + Co-op Package (ESL + CO-OP)

  • Plan A: 12 weeks English + vocational + Co-op
  • Plan B: 16 weeks English + vocational + Co-op
  • Plan C: 24 weeks English + vocational + Co-op

Package fees:

  • ESL + CO-OP Certificate: Plan A $12,300 / Plan B $13,900 / Plan C $16,600
  • ESL + CO-OP Diploma: Plan A $17,100 / Plan B $18,700 / Plan C $21,400

These packages include the application fee, tuition, material fees, and student services fee. English courses can start every Monday, and you cannot reduce lesson hours after starting (but you can increase them), so if you’re unsure, it’s recommended to apply for 25 lessons and upgrade to 30 lessons on site (paying the difference).

Homestay minimum is 4 weeks in Vancouver and 8 weeks in Kelowna, while your study period can be shorter than the minimum homestay period (you can apply for homestay for your study duration if shorter).

English + Volunteering (30 lessons)

In this program, during 12:50–14:45 (part of the 30-lesson schedule), you learn about volunteering and also participate in off-campus activities. The cost is the same as the 30-lesson English course.

  • Minimum level: Intermediate (Level 5+)
  • Schedule: morning General English + afternoon Volunteering class
  • Includes: volunteering-related English + activities; visits to local businesses/cultural spots once every 1–2 weeks; volunteer etiquette; Kelowna employment and job searching; resume, cover letter, interviews
  • Topic examples: Kelowna, intercultural exchange, shopping culture, employment, event operations, cooking, fundraising, art, sports, Canadian culture, community contribution

Speaking-focused “Speak Up!”

This is perfect for students who want to focus on conversation skills. It’s an 8-week speaking-focused course—great for students who want to strengthen speaking quickly (including Working Holiday students).

  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Start: every Monday
  • Minimum level: Intermediate (Level 5+)
  • Schedule: morning Speak Up + afternoon electives
  • Sample weekly themes (content may vary): Week 1 first impressions; Week 2 small talk; Week 3 common daily situations; Week 4 negotiation/persuasion; Week 5 city life; Week 6 travel; Week 7 hobbies; Week 8 cultural understanding

Working Holiday Package (Two-City)

This package helps you enjoy a full Working Holiday experience while studying at both Kelowna and Vancouver campuses.

  • 24 weeks (beginner-friendly, no placement test): Kelowna 16w + Vancouver 8w
  • 18 weeks (Level 3): Kelowna 10w + Vancouver 8w
  • 12 weeks (intermediate, Level 4+): Kelowna 4w + Vancouver 8w

Every Monday start is available, and the plan can be adjusted (Kelowna only, Vancouver only, or change the order). Kelowna offers General English, while Vancouver offers General English in the morning and Business English in the afternoon. The 24-week plan does not require a level-check test, and the package cannot be shortened after enrollment.

English + Co-op Program

This package is for students who want more than language study: learn professional skills in English and gain paid Canadian work experience through Co-op.

  • Plan A (upper-intermediate): 12 weeks English + vocational program + paid Co-op
  • Plan B (intermediate): 16 weeks English + vocational program + paid Co-op
  • Plan C (pre-intermediate): 24 weeks English + vocational program + paid Co-op

Vocational options by package:

Includes: application fee, ESL (30 lessons) tuition, ESL material fees, Co-op tuition, and exam fees. Textbooks for vocational programs are extra, and lesson hours cannot be reduced after enrollment. In Kelowna, the only vocational program available on-site is Hospitality Management.

In Kelowna, Hospitality Management is offered, while other programs are offered at the Vancouver campus. If you want Kelowna life but also want a program other than Hospitality, a recommended plan is to start your English course in Kelowna and transfer to Vancouver for the vocational program.
